Job Description:

• The Electrical Officer assists the Chief Engineer with the maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment onboard.
• He controls electrical spare parts, conducts regular inventories and submits own requisitions to the Second Engineer for spares and consumable stores.
• On a daily basis, monitoring, maintaining and repairing all units. Must be fully familiar with the ship Safety Management System.
• Undertake cable laying, cable termination, connectirazation
• Run tests on electrical components to ensure a safe and effective installation
• Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards
• Read technical drawings and design specifications.Involved in a project from the concept and detail of the design to implementation, testing and handoverTo monitor a product that is in market so as to improve its future design.
• Assisting electronics equipment power supply installation, DI and DR
• Responsible for proper recording of temporary and preliminary modifications. Maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment such as generators, nav lights, horns, search lights, sirens, power switches/MCBs, alternators, motors and intercommunication system aboard the vessel.
